Reviews of the 2005 Convention

If you went to this years convention and would like to place your thoughts on this website please send them into glen@gjs-web.co.uk

I was at the convention, it was my first one, I am such a big fan, I have
them all on DVD, and have most of there autographs, (Rodney, Requel, Sid,
Denzil, Boycie and Marlene.) I attended the convention at 9:27am, already a
a big queue, so me and my sister got straight in the queue and was greeted by
the trotters ethnic tours bus and later the trotters three wheel van. At
10:04 and the queue started to move. When inside I was greeted with another
trotter three wheel van and the green Capri. There was stalls and stalls
selling loads of items, paintings, photos, autographs, models, and even a
bottle of Peckham spring. lovely jubbly!! I got in the queue and was there
for about 1 1/2 hours where I got autographs and photos from, Boycie,
Marlene, Sid, Denzil and 4 members of the green green grass. I had my photo
taking in the trotters flat with look likes of Del Boy and Uncle Albert. The
Uncle was the best he sounded acted and looked just like the real thing. I
had a look in the trotters ethnic tours bus where it had many props and
costumes from the show.
I loved the day it was a really good experience, I will definitely  be going
next year, it was brilliant, or in Del's case luvly jubly!!!

Me and my husband Richard bought tickets for this convention. This were our first one. Richard and I are really big fans of Only Fools and Horses. We love Del Boy, Rodney, Boycie and Marlene, and Denzil. We parked at the convention around about 10.12a.m. There was a  very big queue outside, but that didn't put us off. I am very unwell, and was using my wheelchair, but we still wanted to meet our favourite stars. I don't get out that much, so this will stay in my mind for weeks. We actually joined the queue  inside from about 10.30am to meet and get their autographs etc, and finally met everyone about 3pm. It may of been earlier though. It made my day. We got autographs from Denzil, Sid, and met the rest of the cast from Green Green Grass. Finally met Boycie and Marlene. What lovely actor's they all are. They didn't even mind me asking if it was possible for my husband Richard to take a picture of them with me. Even though I was in my wheelchair, they were climbing on the tables  so I could have my picture taken with each actor.  They were really down to earth. They all seemed generally pleased to see and speak to all their fans. Thank you so much. My mum was supposed to come as well to this convention, but was very unwell. She was really upset to miss this convention. It was a good day, and we  will definitely be going again to the next one, with my mum as well.  It was nice to look at the stalls, with all photos and autographs, DVDs, and CDs, and even mugs. The one thing that really touched me, was the stall selling the book, a autobiography Married to The Vent, by Carl Holmes. The support from David Jason, visiting Carl, writing letters to him as well, What a star David Jason is.  Carl suffered a stroke at the age of 23 whilst weight training. I myself have gone through terrible terrible illnesses, and still am, my heart goes to Carl and his family.

Me and my husband had a luvly jubly time.

A BIG THANK YOU FOR A LUVLY DAY

Had a great day there, we travelled from Brighton and arrived there around 11am, when entering the hall, the first thing I went straight to was the 3 wheeler for my photo, never thought I'd see this. The Wife and myself are big time fans of the show, and we were delighted to see Boycie and Marlene there along with Denzil and Sid, but also a big bonus that 4 of the cast from Green Green Grass was there too.

We queued for a while well in fact a few hours, but this was a time well worth it, when able to chat to these stars we have watched for years in our fav show.

In fact everyone one of them were golden, they had time for you and they wanted to chat, there was no false attitude here.

The overall standard of the stalls was great, with good products for sale.
Thank you to all that were involved, you made our day a great one.

Fantastic day, just loved it. meeting the cast was just brilliant, and the chance to have a small chat was a big bonus.

Arrived at around 10:30am and first had a browse round, there was no queue outside so just went straight in. I dragged my friend along who is not a fan of the show but he really enjoyed himself. Prices were a lot fairer than I thought they would be. Great to see the bus and the cars, and to have my picture done with them. The best bit was meeting the actors and having my photo done with them. Even though they had been signing autographs and talking to fans all day they still seemed genuinely happy to talk and have photos done!
Great! I will definitely be at the next one!

Great day was had, I was able to get all sorts of stuff for my collection, with mugs and posters, but most of all the autographs and the memory of a small chat with each actor. well done to all for their hard work

Got there late and unfortunately the queue for the autographs was so long I just could not see me getting to the end before the 6pm closing time. was a shame but was able to take some photos of Denzil and Boycie at least from the 2 ends of the tables.
Was talking to a couple who had been there all day and they had queued up and was able to chat with them even the members of the cast from Green Green Grass, I will have to make sure I'm early next year.
The stall with books for Carl Holmes and letters from David Jason were great, I brought a book and must say after reading some of it I must say what a person he is and my thoughts will always be with him, others stalls were also fantastic, with coasters and mugs for sale.
Roll on next years, and I must get there early.

What a long wait we had for a autograph!, well we were informed of this, but never thought it would be for this long, 5 hours I waited, and only just managed it before the event closed. shows how much this show is still loved and that the new John Sullivan sitcom has brought even more interest.
OK we had to wait, but in the end it was worth it, just wished they could find another way to do this, but I suppose they have thought of others and until they find something that suits all then this is probably the best way.
Only thing is when queuing it does stop you being able to get around the rest of the place.
